Paramount Theater Historic Third Street Entrance

The Charlottesville Mural Project is proud to offer logistical support for this wheat paste installation featuring artwork by Lorenzo Dickerson highlighting the historic Third Street segregated entrance to Charlottesville’s iconic Paramount Theater. The portraits feature quotes from the individuals who encountered the injustices of segregation and have personal experiences with the Paramount Theater. Lorenzo Dickerson is a filmmaker whose documentary “Third Street: Best Seats In The House” sheds light on this lesser known story of segregation in Charlottesville.
